The Clark County Fiscal Court, upon motion made by County Judge Executive Chris Pace, voted to lower the county government tax rate on real property by over five percent, the largest single year tax cut under the modern county taxing structure.
“We take the responsibility of protecting tax dollars very seriously,” said Judge Pace. “Whenever possible, we will give these dollars back to the hardworking men and women of Clark County who earned them in the first place.”
The court also voted to lower taxes on personal property, marking the sixth Fiscal Court tax cut in the past three years, continuing a steady decline in the portion of taxes that go towards the function of county government.
County government is one segment of the overall tax bill, which also includes the Clark County School System, the County Health Department, the County Extension District, and the Clark County Library Tax District.
