Clark County names new school superintendent

Clark County Public Schools is excited to announce the hiring of our new superintendent, Dr. Molly McComas!
Dr. McComas has over 22 years in public education and has served in the Office of Student Services in Scott County Schools since 2017. She also serves as an adjunct professor of Graduate Studies for the University of the Cumberlands.
Dr. McComas will transition into the role of Superintendent effective Monday, August 2.
Dr. McComas earned a doctorate in Education Leadership & Policy Studies from Eastern Kentucky University where she also completed her Master of Arts in Education for Educational Leadership and Instructional Supervision and Superintendent certifications. Dr. McComas earned her Director of Pupil Personnel certification from Xavier University. She also holds a Master of Science in Library & Information Science from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northern Kentucky University.
She previously served as Director of Student Services & Operations for Williamstown Independent Schools, was a Head Start/Preschool Director, a Library Media Specialist, and a former high school math teacher.
McComas is ready to use her extensive experience in her new role to lead Clark County Public Schools.
“I am honored that the Board of Education selected me to serve Clark County Public Schools as superintendent,” Dr. McComas said. “Together our district will continue to do great work, always put students first, elevate our staff, and support our leaders. I look forward to learning from our community, meeting our school teams, and developing strong relationships.”
Dr. McComas and her husband, Joe, have been married for 26 years. They have two adult children, Sam and Olivia.
