Ann McDonald, 82, widow of Harvey McDonald, father of her children, and widow of husband of 37 years William Walter Tye, passed away June 7, 2021. Ann McDonald received her real estate license in 1975 and her broker license in 1978. She was the founding broker of four real estate offices in Winchester, Lexington, Georgetown, and Richmond for Coldwell Banker McMahan. Ann was instrumental in the successful careers of hundreds of real estate careers over the years. Ann not only served her company, but she served the real estate industry as a whole in many different roles. In 2005, she served as President of the Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors®. In 2007, she was Realtor® of the Year for the Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors® and also served on their Board of Directors. In 2009, she was honored as the Realtor® of the Year for the Kentucky Realtors®. In 2012 she served as the President of the Kentucky Realtors® and she also served on their Board of Directors. She served on many committees such as governmental affairs, finance, strategic plan, personnel, housing needs, executive, legal affairs and Realtor® Political Action Committee. In 2016, Ann was inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame for her dedication and investment efforts. She served as the regional vice president of the National Association of Realtors®. She was also active with the REALTOR® Community Housing Foundation at Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors®. For many years, she has attended national REALTOR® meetings, leading LBAR to Washington to meet with senators and representatives to discuss important issues affecting the real estate industry. Ann served her community as a member of the Lexington, Winchester, Georgetown, and Richmond Chambers of Commerce. In addition, she has attended past Commerce Lexington trips to other cities and also participates in “fly-ins” to Washington. Ann was the mother of Kelley McDonald Nisbet, Lesa (Shahriar) Kasrai, Keith (Paula) McDonald, William (Terri) Tye and Ken (Cheryl) Tye; grandmother of Rachael McDonald, Pearce Nisbet and Elizabeth Ann Nisbet, Haley Tye, Ali Kasrai, Rose Kasari Alita, and Kathy Kasrai. Visitation will be held at the First Christian Church, 24 E. Hickman Street, Winchester, Ky. on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Saturday, June 12, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Jerry Johns, Jr., Senior Minister, officiant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice East, 270 Shoppers Dr. Winchester, KY 40391. Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
