On Saturday, June 5, 2021, Robert Lewis Ballard, 69, went to be with the Lord at Baptist Health, Lexington, Kentucky, following complications of a stroke.

Bobby loved being outdoors fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He was most proud of being a history buff of Clark County and talked often of his Winchester ancestry and being a charter member of First Baptist Church of Winchester, KY. Bobby was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High in 1969 and Eastern Kentucky University in 1975.

Bobby married Janice Asberry of Clinton County, KY on August 3, 1974. They had one son, George Matthew “Matt” Ballard. Bobby was the youngest child of George and Lucy Shearer Ballard being born in Winchester, KY, on November 19, 1951. Over his lifetime he worked at Bundy, Trane, OHI, and retired from TSA in 2014.
Bobby is survived by his wife Janice and son Matt along with one sister Ann Carol Ballard Humble (Phillip), a nephew James Mason Ballard, three great-nieces Kelly Nichole Ballard, Kristie Totten, and Jessica Totten. Close family members Orene Pryor and Pam Asberry Stofer. He was proceeded in death by his parents George and Lucy Ballard. A sister Hallie Elizabeth Ballard McCloud (Doodle), three brothers, George Ballard Jr, Afa Carl Ballard, and Shirley Lee Ballard. A Niece, Whitney Ann Ballard.

Interment will be in the Winchester Cemetery in the Ballard family plot. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church on June 12, 2021, at 11 a.m., with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Winchester, KY.
