George Rogers Clark had the upper hand on hits in the Varsity only contest on Wednesday evening, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Estill County Engineers from pulling away for a win over the Cardinals.
GRC led through the first inning with Aaron Abner singling on a full count and bringing in one run. In the second inning, Estill matched GRC score for score. The Engineers’ offense kicked in in the third inning, pulling away for good and ending the contest early by a score of 14-4.
The Cardinals are 4-7 overall and 2-1 in district play. They meet East Jessamine at home on Thursday, and then are on the road at Montgomery County on Tuesday.
