RDC academic team advances to region

For the sixth year in a row, Robert D. Campbell Junior High School’s academic team has captured the district Governor’s Cup trophy after beating Edythe J. Hayes Middle School in Lexington.
They advance to the regional competition this Saturday, Jan. 30.
RDC hosted the district tournament virtually on Jan. 18.
Superintendent Paul Christy gave the kids a shout out during the school board’s meeting last week.
“The Campbell Junior High team has added another district Governor’s Cup champion trophy to the trophy case,” he announced.
He also commended Coach Lynn Abney, Assistant Principal Kris Creteau, and teachers Tiffany Smith and Robbie Sergent for their assistance.
