Mildred Bailey Gallaher, 97, widow of George C. Gallaher, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at Georgetown Community Hospital. She was born in Sadieville, Kentucky, on Feb. 21, 1923, to the late George and Selah Rose Bailey. She was a retired lab technician at Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot.

Mrs. Gallaher was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the women’s Circle Group. She was a familiar face at Clark Regional Medical Center, where she volunteered for more than 28 years, and had the gift shop named after her. She loved crocheting and made hundreds of blankets for friends and family. She enjoyed Scrabble, Yahtzee, cooking, and entertaining. Mildred was an avid sports fan, following University of Kentucky football and basketball, as well as the Cincinnati Reds. However, her favorite teams were those her sons played on. She was their biggest fan and always cheering them on.

Survivors include her two sons, whom she cherished, John Gallaher of Winchester, KY and David (Valerie) Gallaher of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Grant, Brody, Troy, and Shayne (Janelle) Gallaher; three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Finn, and Nora Gallaher.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory and Paul Gallaher, and grandchildren, Clark, and Caitlyn Gallaher.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, by Dr. Ed Mesta at Scobee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m.
