Juanita passed away on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at the age of 91. She was born in Clark County on Aug. 27, 1929, to John Daniel Johnson and Eva Lena Aldridge. She is preceded in death by her first husband, JW Sosby, second husband, John C. Adams, son and daughter-in-law, James and Cora Sosby, and her siblings, Venard Johnson, Addie Lee Embs, and Dorothy Owens.
She is survived by her children, Glenda Holman (Gary), and Mike Sosby (JoAnn), stepson, John Adams (Missy), and stepdaughter-in-law, Kim Powers (Scot), and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker for most of her young adult life and then worked for the Clark County Board of Education as a Cafeteria Supervisor at Fannie Bush School. She retired after 27 years. Upon her retirement, Juanita volunteered at the Clark County Hospital. She was a chartered member of the Church of the Living God, where she attended faithfully. She began attending East End Church of Christ in Lexington upon her second marriage. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, and short story reading, and game shows.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Scobee Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Claremont Memorial Gardens. The memorial service will also be available by livestream and can be accessed by going to Scobee Funeral Home on Facebook.
