Indictments returned for assault, rape

A pair of Clark County residents were indicted after they allegedly assaulted a father and son during a property dispute.

Paris Green, 34, of Athens Boonesboro Road and 18-year-old Jonathan Wagoner of West Lexington Avenue, were indicted Nov. 13 by the Clark County grand jury for second-degree assault.

According to Winchester Police, officers responded to a fight in progress outside Brown Proctor Apartments on South Main Street around 2 a.m. Aug. 22.

Ronnie Christopher Jr. was arguing with Green and Wagoner over property, police said. Christopher’s father, Ronnie Christopher Sr., said he stepped in to help defend his son, but Green began hitting him in the head with a folded knife, knocking him to the ground and continuing until police arrived.

Christopher Jr. said he was hit in the mouth with a hammer wielded by Wagoner.

Police recovered both weapons from the scene.

A Winchester man was also indicted Nov. 13 week for having a sexual relationship with a juvenile.

Keithyon R. Nelson, 28, of Oxford Drive was indicted for third-degree rape and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Nelson was arrested in September after he admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

According to the arrest citation, the incidents happened in a friend’s apartment at 250 Oxford Drive. Nelson said there were two instances between Aug. 21 and Aug. 25. There were no allegations of force being used either time.

The grand jury also returned the following indictments Nov. 13:

• Melissa S. Hoskins, first-degree wanton endangerment, disorderly conduct, theft by unlawful taking, public intoxication, resisting arrest.

• Detroy Cooper, theft by unlawful taking from a coin machine, first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

• Darrin R. Tays, public intoxication, driving on a suspended operator’s license, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), disorderly conduct, trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl), third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, first-degree persistent felony offender.

• Randall L Curtis, receiving stolen property (firearm).

• Tonya L. Henry, resisting arrest, third-degree assault, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

• Tonya L Henry, receiving stolen property under $10,000.

• Arlie J. Birchfield, driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving on a suspended operator’s license, failure to maintain insurance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, prescription controlled substance not in proper container.

• Chuck Webb, first-degree burglary, second-degree persistent felony offender.

• Brian S. Turner, first-degree wanton endangerment, fourth-degree assault, driving under the influence, resisting arrest.

• Kino M. Kendall, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Florencio Espinoza, first-degree promoting contraband, first-degree persistent felony offender.
