Grand jury indicts Oliver Street shooter

A man charged with shooting two people in July on Oliver Street has been indicted for assault and other charges.
Johnnie D. Stanley Jr., 30, was indicted recently by the Clark County grand jury for first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, first-degree persistent felony offender.
Stanley was arrested in August in Bourbon County, nearly two months after the shooting.
According to Winchester Police, Stanley is charged with shooting two brothers in the early morning hours of July 9. Police had already responded to the area for a fight in progress around 2:30 a.m., when returned around 3:30 a.m. when shots were fired and the brothers were wounded.
One brother had superficial wounds, but the other was hospitalized for several days with more serious injuries.
Detectives said they had conflicting accounts of what led to the shooting.
Stanley had been at large since the shooting occurred, until Paris Police spotted him entering the city limits Aug. 28. They followed him to a residence and arrested him as he left, after officers found drugs on his person, police said.
The grand jury also returned the following indictments”

— Antione Clay, 27, tampering with a prisoner monitoring device, second-degree persistent felony offender.
— Kyle Hicks, 32, second-degree escape, first-degree persistent felony offender. 8-27
— Kyle Hicks, 32, first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, receiving stolen property (firearm), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree persistent felony offender. 8-26
— Robbie Young, 44, and Nelson Stepp, 54, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia (three counts), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (three counts), theft of identity, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree persistent felony offender.
— Chad A. Renner, 35, second-degree burglary.
— Walter J. Chinault, 30, third-degree burglary.
— Eric V. Brown, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
— Benjamin F. Larson, 37, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.
— Christopher R. Brookshire, 45, flagrant non-support, first-degree persistent felony offender.
— James R. Ratliff, 44, flagrant non-support.
— Tait Parish, 40, tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking, first-degree persistent felony offender.
