Clark tops 500 COVID cases

With the addition of 21 new cases since Saturday, Oct. 10, Clark County has topped the 500 COVID-19 case mark.
As of Thursday afternoon, there had been 508 confirmed cases reported in Clark County. Of those, 50 were active.
There have been 10 local deaths attributed to the virus. Two of those deaths were reported last week. There have been no new deaths reported this week locally.
According to the Clark County Health Department, 33 of the local patients have required hospitalization as of Sept. 30, which is the last date for which that data was available.
Also as of Thursday, Kentucky had surpassed 83,000 cases.
There have been 1,276 deaths in the state attributed to the virus.
More than 1.7 million COVID tests have been performed statewide, with a positivity rate of 4.72 percent.
At least 16,756 Kentuckians have recovered.
