5K to benefit the Solid Rock Children’s Ranch draws bigger crowd in second year

This year, the second annual Run for the Ranch 5K to benefit the Solid Rock Children’s Ranch looked a little different with runners and volunteers socially distanced and masked before and after the race.
There were 89 entries for this weekend’s race, slightly more than at last year’s event.
Runners and walkers meandered the hilly countryside of Combs Ferry Road in rural Clark County for a scenic, yet demanding self-paced event.
To maintain current state guidelines, staggered start times were put in place.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Solid Rock Children’s Ranch, a vision created by Sunrise Children’s Services.
The vision of a working ranch benefitting children in need got a boost in recent years when Judy Singleton, a retired educator in Clark County, donated the use of her family farm.
The Solid Rock Children’s Ranch, when complete, will be a working agricultural area that generates revenue to drive the vision of Sunrise Children’s Services of providing care and hope for hurting families and children through Christ-centered ministries.
