Two Clark County men are facing felony assault charges after they allegedly assaulted a man and his father early Saturday morning.

Winchester Police were called to 108 S. Main St. shortly before 2 a.m. for a fight in progress, according to court documents.

Winchester Police Capt. Harvey Craycraft said Ronnie Christopher Jr. was in an argument with Paris L. Green and Johnathan Wagoner over property.

Ronnie Christopher Sr. told officers he stepped in to defend his son, but Green started hitting him in the head with a folded knife. Once Christopher Sr. was on the ground, Green and Wagoner reportedly continued the assault until officers arrived.

Christopher Jr. said Wagoner hit him in the mouth with a hammer and knocked out his two front teeth.

Officers recovered the hammer and the knife from a pool of blood.

According to court documents, Wagoner said Christopher Jr. was holding a knife and making threats. Wagoner also said he hit Christopher Jr. with his hand.

Green, 34, of 690 Athens-Boonesboro Road, and Wagoner, 18, of 413 W. Lexington Ave., were both arrested for second-degree assault and lodged in the Clark County Detention Center.
