Health officials report no new COVID cases

The Clark County Health Department on Wednesday reported no new positive cases of COVID-19 in the county and that two more persons had met the criteria for recovery.

On Monday and Tuesday, the department had reported five new cases each of those days.

Overall, the county has confirmed 213 total cases, 34 of which are now active. Of those that are active, 31 represent members of the community at large, one is a resident of the Fountain Circle nursing home, and two are staff of the nursing home.

COVID has been identified as a contributing factor in seven deaths in Clark County.

As of Wednesday, there were 28,727 coronavirus infections reported in Kentucky and 724 Kentuckians have died of the virus. The death rate in recent weeks had declined from 3 to 2.5 percent.
