Five people have filed to run for three open seats on the Clark County Board of Education in November.
The seats for Districts 2, 3 and 5, currently occupied by Scott Hisle, Gordon Parido and Ashley Ritchie respectively, will be on the ballot.
Ritchie, who is the current board chairperson, is running for re-election to District 5 unopposed.
Hisle and Parido are not seeking re-election.
Megan Hendricks is running unopposed for the District 3 seat.
The only seat with multiple candidates is the District 2 seat. Three people, Patricia Stewart-Hopkins, Heather Penichet and Brenda Considine have filed for that seat.
The District 1 seat held by William Taulbee and the District 4 seat held by Sherry Richardson will not be up for re-election until next year.
There are also four people who have filed to run for the Clark County Conservation (Soil and Water) District.
“Conservation Districts provide assistance to landowners in the conservation, improvement and enhancement of the state’s natural resources,” according to the Clark County Conservation District website.
John Chism, Clint Pace, Shane Wiseman and Kevin Vaughn are all running for re-election to the board.
The deadline to file for these races was June 2.
