John Henry Ramsey, 81

John Henry Ramsey, 81, husband of Betty Donahue Ramsey, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020.

He was found on his farm and boyhood home where he was born August 2, 1938 to the late John K. Ramsey and Hazel Wiseman Ramsey.

He was a lifelong cattleman who loved animals and the community.

He served as a Magistrate on the Clark County Fiscal Court for many years and was a former member of the Clark County Fair Board.

John Henry shared his passion for trees as a member of the Winchester Tree Board and was one of the original founders of the Clark County Saddle Club.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Noelle Page Ramsey, Paris, KY, and Susannah (Robert) Rose, Coral Gables, FL, two grandchildren, Blake Mischelle Rose and Tanner Christian Rose, one brother George (Kathy) Ramsey, Winchester, KY, one step son Steven Richardson along with a host of relatives.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Wells, Lexington, KY. He was a resident of Winchester his entire life and was known fondly by many for his love of conversation and storytelling. He lived a good life, his way, having never met a stranger, and no one who ever met him would forget him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 26, at Holly Rood in Winchester from 12 PM until 2PM.
