The challenge started earlier this year than previous years to allow participants to get a jump start on a healthier new year.
The challenge lasts 10 weeks, concluding March 18.
The Wellness Challenge is organized by the Clark County Activity Coalition, which includes Parks and Rec, the Clark County Health Department, Clark Regional Medical Center and health care providers.
Cost is $15, which gives participants access to more than 75 classes, workshops and activities. Participants can also purchase discounted memberships to Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the challenge, based on percentage of body weight lost throughout the challenge. Participants weigh in each Wednesday, and must weigh in at least five times during the challenge to qualify for prizes.
Those who missed Tuesday’s event can still sign up through Friday at the College Park gym front desk, 15 Wheeler Ave.
