Tyra Flowers is a sophomore forward for the George Rogers Clark girls basketball team. Flowers helped lead the Lady Cardinals to a big win against Madison Central Thursday night. Flowers finished with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and nine steals in only one half of action.

QUESTION: What’s your favorite part about basketball?

FLOWERS:  I love to compete and face new competition.

Q: Did you set any personal goals before the season?

F: To improve my perimeter game and speak up more on the floor.

Q: Do you have any athletes you try to model your game after?

F: My favorite player is LeBron James but I try to model my game after my dad.

Q: What’s your favorite memory playing basketball?

F: Winning regions three times in a row but it was very sweet sharing it with my sister.

Q: Who has had the most influence on your basketball career?

F: I’ve had several coaches and teammates who’ve made an impact but my family, especially my parents remind me every day to push to be the best I can be.

Q: Did you set any team goals before the season?

F: The goal is always the same. Win district, then region and make a run at state.
