Makenzie Cooper will hit the track as a Cardinal for the final time this spring, but it won’t be the end of her track career.
George Rogers Clark’s eight-year varsity runner has decided to continue her athletic and academic career at Northern Kentucky University.
Cooper will miss her days as a Cardinal but is excited about what her future holds.
“As you could tell from my tears, my time as a Cardinal meant a lot,” Cooper said. “But it’s exciting to step into some new shoes.”
Cooper has known for a while that she’d be going to NKU as she’s loved the school and program from day one.
“I visited campus and as soon as I stepped foot on it, I fell in love with it,” Cooper said. “The coach reached out to me a lot and it really stuck with me.”
Cooper still has one more season as a Cardinal runner, which will be her ninth total, and is aiming for an injury-free season and to continue having fun.
