Road closure for Ironworks Road

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Thursday a scheduled closure for Ironworks Road/KY 15 in Winchester. The temporary closure is necessary for sinkhole repair operations around a gas transmission pipe. The road will be closed at milepost 9.2 from 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. A signed detour will be in place, which will route motorists around the bypass to Ky 1960 across Schollsville Road. All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

WMU closed for Thanksgiving, pickup days altered

WMU will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for Thanksgiving. Solid Waste services will be collected Wednesday, Nov, 27, for WMU customers that have collection on Thursday and Friday. Customers should have the curbits and items to be collected to the curb by 7 a.m. Nov. 27. For more information, contact the Solid Waste Department at 744-1170.
