Grace Baptist Church, 5990 Lexington Road, will open the doors of its recently-updated and expanded facility at 6 p.m. Sunday for the annual Community Thanksgiving Service for Winchester and Clark County.

The service is sponsored by the Winchester Clark County Association of Churches and is an opportunity for all believers to come together to give thanks to God, according to a press release from the Association.

Everyone is invited to attend, and the service is open to all churches and denominations.

Jerry Johns, senior minister of First Christian Church, will share a message titled “Grateful,” based on Philippians 4:4-9.

Praise and worship will be led by the music ministry team of Grace Baptist Church.

An offering will be taken to support the Clark County transient ministry, which is administered under the direction of Clark County Community Services.

The transient ministry assists travelers who encounter difficulties and become stranded in Clark County. The assistance may include help with gas or a night in a local motel.

“Its purpose is to leave travelers who encounter difficulties during a trip with the feeling Winchester and Clark County is a place where people care and are willing to help,” according to the release.

A time of fellowship with desserts and coffee will follow the service. All are asked to bring a dessert to share.
