Seniors played like champions Thursday during the annual Signature HealthCARE Senior Olympics at College Park Gym.

Forty-four individuals from 11 Signature HealthCARE facilities defied age and went head-to-head in a little friendly competition at the 2019 Senior Olympics games.

With this year’s sports theme, residents competed in various games including cornhole, basketball shootout, bowling and more.

Each game focused on exercising the residents’ cognitive, physical or sensory abilities, according to a news release. The day kicked off with the opening ceremonies, during which teams performed in the Lip Sync Battle.

Individuals with the highest scores for each game received gold, silver or bronze medals. Facility teams also competed to win a trophy for Team Spirit, Lip Sync Battle, Best Costume, Best Booth Space, Best Team Banner and of course, Overall Highest Score.

Senior Olympics is one of several unique quality of life initiatives Signature hosts to lead radical change across the healthcare landscape, according to the news release. Teams practice months in advance and work hard to earn the title of Senior Olympics Champion.
