The Cardinals downed the Briar Jumpers 4-1, and the usual suspects were at it again for the Cards.

Brandon Beltran scored two goals, bringing his season total to 13 and keeps his streak alive of scoring in every game he’s played in, excluding his game against Corbin that he left early due to injury.

Nathan Sidwell and Tyree Brown both tacked on goals for the Cardinals.

Tyree Brown, Emidio Figueroa and Conner Brown each got an assist.

The Cardinals next game will be one of their toughest tests of the season, traveling to Harrison County tonight at 7:30 p.m.

GRC is one spot ahead of the Thorobreds in the 10th Region standings, but Harrison County is yet to lose a game this season and have one of the state’s stingiest defenses, allowing only three goals this season.

At 0.3 goals allowed per game, they rank second in the state, trailing only Henry Clay.

The Thorobreds also have a potent offense, scoring 37 goals this season, good enough for third-most in the 10th Region.

Their biggest threat on offense is sophomore midfielder Garret Dawson, who has scored 11 goals so far this season.
