Services at Salem Church
This Sunday, at Salem Church at Pine Grove, 312 Combs Ferry Road, Pastor Don Stanley shares how we can all follow in the footsteps of Christ’s disciple, Barnabas. Worship at the “Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus” begins at 11 a.m.
Services at Forest Grove Christian
Worship services at Forest Grove Christian Church, 4733 Old Boonesboro Road, are at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Sunday School is at 9:15 a.m. Sunday evening Bible study is at 6 p.m. Wednesday Bible study and youth groups meet at 7 p.m. Sunday worship service is broadcast on local cable channel 378 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m.
Services at Liberty Bible COG
Services at Liberty Bible Church God, 6615 Veterans Memorial Highway, are as follows: Sunday School, 9:30 a.m.; Sunday morning services, 10:30 a.m., with children’s church and nursery provided; Sunday evening services, 6 p.m.; Wednesday night Bible study at 6 p.m. The Rev. Shepherds Church services
Shepherds Church Independent Full Gospel, 1107 Pioneer Drive, has Sunday services at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome.
Services at First Christian
First Christian Church, 24 E. Hickman St., welcomes Dr. Lori Baruth, Morehead State University, as guest clarinetist during the 10:45 a.m. traditional worship service Sunday, Aug. 25, in the sanctuary. Early worship service at 8:30 a.m. concludes Sunday with Susie Shearer offering the message and Mary Buckner on piano. “Donut Days” for children and youth continues with Shawna Mitchell, which includes breakfast, camp songs, Bible memory verses, energizers, games, dances, Bible races and snacks. The 9:30 a.m. adult fellowship class in the chapel continues an in-depth study of I Timothy and II Timothy and Titus, the pastoral epistles. The 9:45 a.m. pastor’s discussion class in the Van Meter library is centered around the question, “How would you preach?” and is led by the Rev. Dr. Jerry Johns, senior minister. Nursery care for infants to age 5 is provided beginning at 9:15 a.m. Holy communion is offered, and all are welcome to partake.
Food pantry at First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St., operates a food pantry in partnership with God’s Pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the church. The pantry is open to those in need and for donations from the community. For more information, call the church at 744-6624.
Services at First Presbyterian
— Services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit. All are welcome. The Rev. Ryan Bradney is pastor. — Shawn Stinson and Kyri Demby will be in concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 in the church’s sanctuary. Admission if free. An offering will be collected to support Clark County Community Services, Clark County Homeless Coalition and Habitat for Humanity of Madison & Clark Counties.
Missionary workshop at Corinthian Missionary Baptist
Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 37 Fifth St., will host a Missionary Workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, with Sister Angela Campbell, president of the General Association Baptist Women’s Missionary, conducting. Lunch will be provided. The church will observe Missionary Day on Sunday, Sept. 22, with services beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dinner will be served following morning worship. The public is invited to both events. The Rev. Ronald L. Burns is host pastor.
