Interact Winchester artists begin work on first mural downtown

Students with Interact Winchester, from left, Imani Hooker, Destiny Napier and Jeremy Reed, started their first of four interactive murals in downtown Winchester Thursday. The mural, which depicts a group of friendly dogs that passersby can stop and pose with as if they are walking them, is being painted on the Cupcake Apothecary building near the courthouse on Main Street. Other murals are planned for Harper’s Pawn Shop, The Winchester Sun and a vacant building at the corner of Main and Broadway streets. Donations for the project are still being collected and can be made to the Interact Winchester account at D&S Hardware.
