Applications are available for this year’s Leadership Winchester class.
Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce Director Cindy Banks said 24 spots are available in this year’s class.
Leadership is a program designed to expose those who live or work in Winchester and Clark County to local leaders, rather than focusing on leadership skills, and to learn about the community, she said.
“We will touch on your personal leadership capabilities,” Banks said. “It’s to expose you to leaders to know where to go to make a change (in the community).”
Leadership meets once a month for a full day of programming, beginning Sept. 12 and continuing through May 14, 2020.
This year, a class was added to focus on local non-profit organizations, which will be organized by Judy Crowe, the former director of Clark County Community Services. The non-profits will also be part of the group’s class project, she said.
This year’s classes include tourism, education, non-profits, economic development, state government, local government, health services and agriculture. Graduation will be May 21, 2020, during the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet.
Each class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
There is a $50 application fee and $450 tuition which includes meals and transportation.
