Cards derail Estill

Four hits from Brady Turner paved the way to victory for the George Rogers Clark baseball team in a Estill County 16-1 on Monday.

Turner singled in the first, doubled in the first, doubled in the second, and singled in the fourth.

The Cardinals opened up scoring in the first inning and scored two runs when Joe Austin doubled.

Caden Easterling was credited with the victory for George Rogers Clark. He went four innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out eight. Will Henry threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Henry recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Parker McCreary took the loss for Estill County. He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing four hits and eight runs while striking out one.

Clark launched one home run on the day when Aaron Abner went deep in the second inning.

Overall, Clark tallied 15 hits. Turner, Austin, Chance Scobee, Easterling, and Abner each collected multiple hits. Turner led the way with four hits in four at bats.

Clark 5, Sayre 4

A walk-off single led Clark past Sayre 5-4 on Friday. The game was tied at 4-4 with the Cardinals batting in the bottom of the seventh when Scobee singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Sayre fired up the offense in the first inning.

Sayre knotted the game up at four in the top of the fifth inning, when Saatman grounded out, scoring one run.

Clark tallied three runs in the fourth inning and scored its runs on an RBI home run by Abner.

Abner was the winning pitcher for Clark. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Ethan Neal threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Tanner Summers started and lasted two-and-a-third innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out two and walking one.

Clark collected nine hits in the game. Austin and Neal all collected multiple hits. Austin paved the way with three hits in three at bats.
