Grace Chambers McLemore, 90

Grace Chambers McLemore, 90, of Winchester, widow of Marvin Eugene “Gene” McLemore, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Saint Joseph Mount Sterling.

Born on July 6, 1928 in Winchester, she was the daughter of the late Rev. John Rose and Mrs. Lucille Kimbrell Chambers. She was adored and cherished in life and will be deeply mourned hereafter.

Grace is survived by her children: David (Linda) McLemore and Jeanne (Dallis) Crowe, her daughter-in-law Patti McLemore, all of Winchester; her six grandchildren: Kimberly (Van) Bugg of Harrodsburg, Morgan (Michael) Heath of Winchester, Dallis (Heather) Crowe II of Richmond, Shawna (Darrell) Lucas of Richmond, Paul (Mary Ellen) McLemore II of Winchester, and Whitney Crowe of Winchester; her 10 great grandchildren: Taylor (Zach) Lewis of Winchester, Hannah Ritchie of Harrodsburg, Hunter, Hayden, and Houston Heath of Winchester, Shelby and Jaxon Lucas of Richmond, and Mason, Lilly, and Kimbrell McLemore of Winchester; and, her sister, Thelma Chambers Horton of Winchester.

She is preceded in death by her son, Paul McLemore, and by four siblings: John Fox Chambers, Betty “Bab” Arthur, Calla Chambers, and Joe Chambers.

Grace was a woman of faith and was a member of Epperson First Church of God, where she shared her musical talents as the Church’s longtime pianist and was a member of the Epperson First Church of God Missionary Society. She also was an active member of the community, serving as treasurer of the Glen Eden Youth Center and fundraising for the George Rogers Clark High School Marching Band. Grace retired from the Lexington-Bluegrass Army Depot. She also spent many years providing child care for beloved family and friends, many of whom knew her best as “Nana Grace.”

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Chris Williams. Burial will follow at Winchester Cemetery, Winchester.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Dallis Crowe II, Paul McLemore II, Van Bugg, Michael Heath, Darrell Lucas, and Zach Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Granddaughters, Great- grandchildren, Epperson First Church of God Missionary Society, and Dr. Charles Salters.
