Students gave impassioned speeches about the importance of feeding birds, the demand for tutoring, the benefits of visiting the elderly and more Wednesday.
Ten seventh-graders gave speeches during round two of Campbell Junior High School’s in-house Amazing Shake competition. Judges selected the highest-scoring students during Monday’s Gauntlet competition.
The judges selected five students to move onto the final round, choosing the students who presented their speeches with confidence, energy and a clear demonstration of knowledge about their subject.
The final round competitors — Silas Coogle, Sydney Herringshaw, Michaela Hubert, Cooper Wasson and Maggie Zeysing — are in for a surprise as they will venture off-campus for a real-life test of their professionalism Friday.
