Clark County Preschool students and staff wrapped up a weeklong celebration of Dr. Seuss’s 115th birthday Friday.

Throughout the week, students took part in various Seuss-themed activities, costumes and more. Kid’s Discovery Daycare even brought Seussville to the preschool earlier this week.

On Friday, Principal Kara Davies and School Psychologist Allison Nelson read books to each class to celebrate the importance of engaging story time.

“(We) were doing stories, songs and stretches lessons with the students…,” Davies said. “These playful story time lessons incorporate social-emotional learning, locomotor movement and literacy skills into one fun story time that is highly engaging. Our lessons … focused on curiosity and courage through movement, songs and stories. Research shows that movement paired with literacy instruction increases the positive outcome on literacy skills.”
