Travel to the African savanna as Simba and Nala go on an unforgettable journey to reclaim Simba’s place in the “Circle of Life,” with Shearer Musical Theatre’s production of Disney’s “The Lion King KIDS,” which opens at 7 p.m. today at Leeds Center for the Arts.
This production is Shearer’s sixth annual Broadway-style musical and includes more than 50 students from kindergarten through fourth-grade starring in the colorful cast of classic characters.
Before the parent-picture dress rehearsal Tuesday, Director Collin Berner said the audience would be amazed at the students’ powerful performances.
Performances continue throughout the weekend at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $7 for children 12 and younger and $9 for adults.
All proceeds directly benefit Shearer Elementary School arts programs.
