Works As Worship retreat at First COG
Join thousands of Christian business professionals from around the world for a one-day livestream event to hear from experts on connecting your faith and work from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at First Church of God, 2500 Colby Road. This Work as Worship retreat makes the connection between faith and work that is not always obvious, but it is a God-given calling to make them connect. Featured speakers include Steve Green, president of Hobby Lobby; Francis Chan, church planter and bestselling author; Megan Alexander, correspondent at Inside Edition, and other nationally-recognized professionals. Food pantry at First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St., operates a food pantry in partnership with God’s Pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the church. The pantry is open to those in need and for donations from the community. For more information, call the church at 744-6624.
Winchester Pentecostal offering new series
Winchester Pentecostal, located at 6 Thoroughbred Plaza, will begin a new series, “Rare,” Sunday, Feb. 10. Services are at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays. Pastors Kaleb and Jennifer Brandenburg invite the community to worship.
Services at Salem Church at Pine Grove
This Sunday the congregation of Salem Church at Pine Grove, 312 Combs Ferry Road, will draw some parallels between fishing and the process of sharing one’s faith. Worship at the “Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus” begins at 11 a.m. The Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated.
Services at First Presbyterian Church
— Services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit. Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults begin at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. — The church will soon begin a weekly grief support groups for anyone experiencing the loss of a loved one. The ministry will be a time for listening, support and prayer. All are welcome.
