Kennedy Mack is a another sophomore who has been playing basketball since the fifth grade.
Softball was Mack’s other sport of choice until she realized basketball was the right one for her.
“I have major love for the sport,” she said. “I did not feel this way when I played softball. I get different kinds of feelings from basketball than I did with anything else. The people I grew up playing with and how it makes us go at it is what I enjoy the most.”
Mack said her strength in guarding the basket is solid in her game.
“Defense is my best part of my game,” she said. “I actually like to play it even though it is the hardest part of the game. I like to guard the ball, rebound and get stops. You become good at things you enjoy.”
Mack wants to work more on her ability to score.
“I want to keep learning post moves,” she said. “I want to be able to become a solid option on offense when we need to score instead of relying on my defense. If I could help contribute in scoring then we could be a really good team that has a bunch of scorers.”
Mack’s influence to keep grinding basketball and her school work is her mom.
“She does everything for me,” she said. “It is nice to give back to her. It makes me want to get better.”
Mack wants to use these next couple of years to continue getting better and help make a difference.
“I am very motivated to work on my game,” she said. “I want to get stronger and become more of a threat on offense and defense. I want to put my heart into it all because I know it will be worth it somehow.”
