SATURDAY, OCT. 27

— Absentee voting open for voters who will be out of town between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on general election day, Nov. 6. Office hours for absentee voting are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Clark County Clerk’s Office in the courthouse. — Marine Corps League Detachment meeting, 9 a.m. at City Hall.

— Halloween festival, 2 to 6 p.m. at Epperson First Church of God, 14475 Irvine Road. There will be a car show, vendors, trunk or treat and a chili and soup dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the church. This is a fundraiser for new pews. For more information, cll 859-398-0200.

— Fall festival for children, youth and families, 4 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St. Free food, games and fellowship. Sponsored by First Baptist Church and Winchester First United Methodist Church. For more information, visit winfumc.org or fbwinchesterky.org.

— Fall festival including trunk or treat, dinner and an auction, 5 p.m. at El Bethel United Methodist Church, 5229 Trapp Goffs Corner Road. Dinner is at 6 p.m. and auction begins at 7 p.m.

— Trunk or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. at First Church of God, 2500 Colby Road. There will be inflatables, free food and trunks full of candy. Open to the public. Rain or shine.

— East Kentucky Variety Show, 7 p.m. at the George Rogers Clark High School auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults or $5 for children, and are available at The Craft Nook, local banks, MinuteMan Press or from any Kiwanis member. Show is sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Winchester.

SUNDAY, OCT. 28

— “Meet Me at the Pole” prayer for the coming election, 3 p.m. in front of the Clark County Courthouse.

— Fall festival at Cornerstone Christian Church, 40 Belmont Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Includes trunk-or-treat, pig roast, chili cookoff, a spooky walk for young children and a haunted house for teens.

— Trunk or treat and fall festival, 4 to 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church, 40 Belmont Ave. There will also be a pig roast, chili cookout, spooky walk, haunted house, live music and carnival.

MONDAY, OCT. 29

— AARP Chapter 632 meeting, 4:30 p.m. at the James B. Allen Generations Center, 32 Meadow St. Speakers will be Farah Alexander, Ashley Moore and Candace Tackett of Clark Regional Medical Center. Everyone 50 year or older is invited to attend.

— Spooky Storytelling by the GRC Fine Arts Cohort, 6 to 7 p.m. at the Clark County Public Library for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Wear costumes. There will be free games, crafts, candy and other activities.

— Meeting of the Minds, 6:30 p.m. at Clark County Public Library.

— Cynthia Rice will be at the Clark County Extension Office, 1400 Fortune Drive, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. to answer questions about the Socially Disadvantaged Groups Grant.
