Gordon Hobson Maginnis II, Bethesda MD, born October 30, 1969, in a U.S. Army hospital in Stuttgart, Germany, died of natural causes on August 10, 2018, in Inova Hospital, Falls Church VA.
After graduating from Turpin High School in Cincinnati OH, Gordon earned B.A. degrees in International Studies and Philosophy from Miami University, Oxford OH, in 1992. He also was awarded an M.A. in International Studies and an M.B.A. in International Business from The George Washington University in 1998. He served as a staff member and Legislative Assistant to Rep. Marcy Kaptur (OH) from 1992 through 1994; as Program Manager for the Congressional Economic Leadership Institute (CELI) from 1994 to 1995.
Gordon next transitioned into governmental consulting, joining IBM Business Consulting Services (formerly PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC) in 1998, where he became Principal and Senior Consultant; and with IBM Global Business Services, where he served as a Senior Managing Consultant in London, United Kingdom, and Washington, D.C. Most recently, Gordon was a Senior Manager at Grant Thornton LLP, in Washington, D.C.
Gordon is survived by his mother, Martha Riley Rogers Kash, Winchester KY; his father, John Hobson Maginnis, Jr. (Rose), Madisonville LA; his former wife, Anne Condino Maginnis; a daughter, Jane Mulqueen Maginnis, and a son, Connor King Maginnis, Bethesda MD. He is also survived by brothers Alexander Rogers Maginnis (Jennifer), Cincinnati OH and Emory Madison Maginnis (April), New Orleans LA. In addition, he is survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nephews, a niece, and numerous cousins.
A memorial service was held in Winchester KY on August 25.
