Children carefully navigated orange traffic cones, slowly jumped ramps and cautiously followed the signs during the 2018 Bike Rodeo Saturday morning at Lykins Park.

More than 50 Clark County children showed out for Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation’s sixth annual bicycle safety event.

The event was free to anyone ages 3 to 15 years old. All children needed to bring was a bicycle and helmet, though, WCCPR had a few loaners just in case.

Some children even rode away on new bicycles.

T-shirts and popsicles were also available to the event-goers.

Riders had to get a safety inspection before participating in the courses. Children had the opportunity to learn about biking on the road as well as testing out special skills such as riding on a balance beam and weaving through cones.
