William Larry Barnett, 100, widower of Vernice Barnett, passed away Monday, May 1, 2018, in Lexington.
Larry was born to William Wilson Barnett and Claudie Barnett Sept. 10, 1917, in Brookland, Arkansas. He was raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and graduated from Jonesboro High School.
Larry lived most of his adult life in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where he was a building contractor. He was a Baptist and attended Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
The last three years of his life he lived with his daughter, Pat Gibbs, in Winchester.
Besides his wife and parents, Larry was predeceased by his sisters, Ora Pack, Lora Rogers, Marie Henson and Mary Elizabeth Hodges.
He is survived by daughter Pat Gibbs, grandson Toby Gibbs of Lexington, granddaughter Terr (Glenn) Maher of Hamilton, Ohio; great-grandsons Ryan, Jeffrey, Mark and Sean Maher of Hamilton, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
At Larry’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
