Bluegrass Community and Technical College Winchester-Clark County campus has added additional General Education Diploma (GED) test dates for April, May and June.
A person with a high school diploma or GED earns on average $9,400 more annually than an individual without a high school diploma or GED.
The Clark County Adult Education Program assists anyone 18 and older, not currently enrolled in a secondary school, with preparing for the GED by improving basic skills, learning English as a Second Language (ESL), and preparing for college courses and employment.
Preparation courses and required GED pre-tests are offered free-of-charge throughout the year. Adult education also supplies materials needed for classwork and offers a bus pass to assist with transportation.
Interested individuals must complete the GED Ready tests with a passing score. The GED Ready tests are offered at no charge, and funds may be available to assist with the cost of the GED test.
Anyone who has successfully taken the GED Ready tests can come to BCTC on the offered dates to take the GED test. However, test-takers must schedule at least one day in advance to take the test.
Individuals do not have to be enrolled in the Clark County Adult Education Program.
GED test dates are:
— 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 20
— 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4
