Jerry Lee Thornberry, 82, husband of Ruth Huff Thornberry, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Saint Joseph East Hospital.
He was born on May 23, 1935 in Olive Hill to the late Glenn Horton Thornberry and Virginia Kerns Thornberry. He was a self-employed business man, and owner of Thornberry Markets and Quickshop Trailer Park. He was a member of the 1951 state champion basketball team and the 1953 state champion golf team of Clark County High School. Mr. Thornberry was a proud Army Veteran and Elder at Calvary Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Huff Thornberry of 57 years, two sons, Timothy Lee (Cynthia) Thornberry and Jeffrey Huff Thornberry; one daughter, Jennifer Thornberry (Brian) Graham; seven grandchildren, Franklin Chase Davis, Kendall Rhea Thornberry, Hayley Ruth Thornberry, Derek Robert Thornberry, Taylor Brian (Sarah) Graham, Caitlin Eyvan Graham, Issac Lee Graham; one brother, Larry Dee (Margaret) Thornberry.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Jay Douglas Thornberry.
Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Calvary Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Taylor Graham, Derek Thornberry, Issac Graham, Chase Davis, Mike “Bear” Rogers, Larry Curtis, and John Wheatley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Calvary Christian Church.
Visitation will be 5:00PM-8:00PM Monday, March 19, 2018 at Calvary Christian Church.
