Dorothy Mae Swetnam Botto, 87

Dorothy Mae Swetnam Botto, of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, died February 10, 2018 of natural causes after a stroke and complications.

She was born in Clark County, Kentucky on September 26, 1930 to Walter Davis Swetnam and Anna Mae Reeves Swetnam.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Joe Donald Botto.

Mrs. Botto is survived by her three children and their spouses: Mark (Kimbell) Botto of Fort Thomas, KY, Carrie (Wayne) Botto Causey of Portland, TN, and Tim (Brandy) Botto of Mt Pleasant, SC; ten grandchildren: Rachel Botto Campbell, Wesley, Carter, Sasha & Anastasia Botto; Andrew Causey & Joanna Causey Michael; and Cortney, Joshua & Zachary Botto, along with 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Vic Bloomfield, of Winchester, KY and brother, Tom Swetnam of Fountain Hills, AZ, along with their spouses.

Mrs. Botto graduated from Winchester High School in 1948 and attended the University of Kentucky. She worked at the Winchester Bank prior to her marriage in 1953. Her interests included sewing and handwork, refinishing furniture and cooking. In Winchester, she was an active member of First Baptist Church, WMU, Homemakers Club and the Clark County Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a Cub Scout and Girl Scout troop leader and served in the GRC Band Boosters.

When she lived in Dade City, FL she was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Dade City Garden Club. She was most recently a member of Christ Baptist Church in Fort Thomas where she served on the Bereavement Committee. The life she lived of service to others will long be remembered and missed.

Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 27th at Christ Baptist Church, Cold Spring, KY.
