SATURDAY, JAN. 6
— Community Prayer Service, 10 a.m. at First Church of God, 2500 Colby Road. Will include prayers for schools, students, teachers, staff, administrators and parents; volunteers, churches, non-profits and help groups; courts, jail, fire, law enforcement, EMS and first responders; military — active duty, veterans and reservists; those in distress; elected officials, appointed officials and civil government. If there is inclement weather, the service will be rescheduled for Jan. 13.
SUNDAY, JAN. 7
— Historic marker dedication ceremony, 2 p.m. at the intersection of Quisenberry Lane and Boonesboro Road. Marker will commemorate Daniel Boone’s first survey and the Bush settlement. There will be a reception after at the Fort Boonesborough State Park blockhouse.
MONDAY, JAN. 8
— George Rogers Clark High School-based Decision-making council meeting, 4 p.m. in the SBDM conference room.
— Alzheimer’s and dementia caregiver support group meeting, 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Use alley door for entrance. Each support group meeting features a guest speaker followed by a time for discussion. Group is free and open to all caregivers of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Main St. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the Eight Beatitudes, the 12 Steps and their Biblical comparison.
