A new store downtown is offering women’s clothing in an array of sizes.

Bridgette Shaw, owner of Plus Size’s & More, said she opened the business as a way to supplement her income as a worker at Clark Regional Medical Center.

“I’ve had a lot of different businesses,” Shaw said. “I’ve run some country stores, a hair and tanning business and a peddlers outlet in Paris.”

Shaw and her husband, Eddie Freundorfer, have lived in Winchester for about a year. She said the two of them began looking for potential locations for the store all over town before settling on the building at 19 East Broadway St. because of the location and affordability of the space.

Plus Size’s & More offers women’s clothing in sizes from small to 4X or 5X. In addition, the store sells various odds and ends like books, movies, candles and other items. Shaw mans the store from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and Freundorfer operates it on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shaw said the store has started small, but as word has spread on social media her number of customers is starting to grow.

“There’s room to expand,” she said. “We hope to add personalized items for women, but we’ll also listen to what members of the public want to see from us and make those changes accordingly.”

She said the store may begin offering men’s clothing in the future as well.
