Sophie Goolman Osborne, age 89, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Carolina’s HealthCare System-Cleveland. Born in Clark County, KY September 28, 1928 to the late Ernest McKinley Goolman and Kittie Pearl Richardson Goolman. She moved from Kentucky with her husband Thirlen to Boiling Springs in 1958. Sophie was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. She retired as a teacher from Graham Elementary School where she taught for many years.

In addition to her parents, Sophie is preceded in death by a very special niece Linda Pasley Pittman and sister-in-law Ann Goolman. Sophie is survived by her husband of 59 years Thirlen Osborne of Boiling Springs; sister Betty Pasley and husband Bobby; two brothers; Wilford Goolman and Alva Goolman and wife Bessie all of Winchester, KY as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Services will be at 1:00PM Monday, November 27, 2017 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Harold Shimfessel. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until time of service on Monday. Memorials may be made to: Dunaway United Methodist Church, 11840 Irvine Road, Winchester, KY 40391.
