The Winchester Kiwanis Club provided new clothes for 160 Clark County school children Saturday morning at its annual Walk with a Child event.

According to club member Russ Morrison, 173 children were initially signed up for the program, and the majority of them made it to the Winchester Walmart with their parents or guardians. They were then paired with one of 22 Kiwanis members or 26 volunteers from the community who led the student through the store shopping for clothes, shoes, jackets and other accessories necessary for school.

“The total price was $12,591.48 which showed $78.70 per child spent,” Morrison said.
