Charles “Buddy” Rogers Jr.

Charles “Buddy” Rogers Jr. 82, husband of the late Janice Benton “Nin-Num” Rogers, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017 at Clark Regional Medical Center. A native of Clark County, he was born on October 31, 1934, to the late Charlie and Grace Martin Rogers. As well as his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Rogers McKinney.
Buddy was a retired senior repairman for East Kentucky Power. He was a member of Calvary Christian Church; former member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Clark County Fish & Game Club.
He was a humble and hardworking father, grandfather,
Brother, husband and friend who was loved by many.
Buddy, “Poppy”, is survived by three children, Mike “Bear” (Paula) Rogers, Donna (Matt) Ritchie, and Lori (Jeff) Cooley; four grandchildren, Luke Ritchie, Tristan Rogers, Lindsey Ritchie and Benton Rogers; three siblings, Patsy (Mike) Jesmore, Donnie (Brenda) Rogers and Michael P. (Susan) Rogers; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dear friend and faithful companion, Flora Montgomery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the CRMC Transitional Care Unit.
Services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor C. Noel White. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donnie Rogers, Michael P. Rogers, Freddie Rogers, Kenny Carroll, Matt Ritchie, Jeff Cooley, Luke Ritchie and Tristan Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the CRMC Transitional Care unit.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at Scobee Funeral Home.
