Visitors to the Winchester-Clark County Farmers Market were able to enjoy a savory lunch during the Holy Smokes barbecue fundraiser Saturday.
Local smokers Flack Brothers BBQ and Elkhawg Smokers spent the day making pulled pork, brisket and ribs soaked in homemade barbecue sauces.
Visitors to the market could purchase a barbecue lunch for $7 which included meat, chips, cookies made by local farmers and a drink.
Money raised from the lunch was used to pay for the meat served, and the rest went to the farmers market to help it continue its operation.
“We’re happy to help out,” Mike Flack of Flack Brothers said. “They (the market) do great things here.”
The farmers market it open Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon and Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m.
