The Planet Fitness location on Bypass Road next to Rural King is now accepting pre-registration for memberships and is expected to open by Labor Day weekend.
According to spokesperson Ken Horn, the location is the latest of 16 PF fitness clubs operated by brothers and franchise owners Rick and David Kueber.
“When completed the club will be 16,000 square feet and have 100 cardio machines,” Horn said.
Those machines will include treadmills, ellipticals, stairclibmers and more. The gym will also feature a free-weight area and several weight machines.
“It will also have a PF360, which incorporates several crossfit exercises similar to those seen on the NBC show ‘The Biggest Loser,’” Horn said.
Planet fitness will offer customers two different membership options, Horn said. A basic membership will cost $10 a month and grant access to all of the cardio and weight lifting machines in the club. Customers who opt for the Black Card membership, offered at $19.99 per month, will have additional perks, like the ability to bring a friend to work out with them at no extra charge and access to a spa area featuring tanning beds and massage chairs. Black Card members are also able to work out at any other Planet Fitness location.
Horn said the goal of Planet Fitness is to offer a very accessible way for people to improve their health.
“Most of our clients have either never joined a gym or have been priced out of one before,” Horn said. “Planet Fitness’ goal is to be a judgement free zone. We welcome everyone and have clients of all different shapes and sizes. We’re about allowing anyone to come in and start a healthier lifestyle”
