People driving by the Cricket store on Carol Road may see some iconic signs in the next storefront over.
Winchester Planning and Community Development Director Robert Jeffries said his office has been in communication with a representative of Jimmy Johns in regard to signage, but he said a building permit has not been issued for the location yet.
He added that if the site plan for the location conforms with the uses set forth in the city’s zoning ordinance, and if the location meets the necessary number of parking spaces and other requirements, the proposed use of the space can be approved in house by the planning department.
Jimmy Johns spokesperson Nathan Louer said because the company is still in the design phase of the project, a specific timetable was not available for when the restaurant might open.
“We are still in the process of finalizing our store design for this location, so it is really tough to say, but hopefully sometime later this summer,” Louer said.
