Community Education moving
Community Education is moving out of the Kentucky Bank building at 24 W. Lexington Ave. and into the Clark Extended Education Center, 100 Vaught Road, on Wednesday, March 1. Phones and computers will be down temporarily that day.
Marine Corps League to meet
The Harold G. Epperson, MOH, Detachment No. 1113 Marine Corps League will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Winchester City Hall.
School board work session
The Clark County Board of Education will meet for a work session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Central Office, 1600 W. Lexington Ave. The meeting is open to the public.
American Legion meeting
American Legion Post 25 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Elks Club on Shoppers Drive. Nominations for officers will take place. All veterans are welcome. If you are new to the post, please bring your DD214.
GIS board meeting Feb. 27
There will be a special meeting of the Clark County GIS Board at 10 a.m. Monday in the basement conference room at the Clark County Courthouse, 34 S. Main St.
AARP offers tax preparation help
The AARP Tax-Aide Foundation program will offer free tax preparation, counseling and electronic filing and Mondays and Tuesday until April 18 at the Central Baptist Church annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave. Taxpayers should bring their 2015 tax return and all documents showing 2016 income. Those itemizing should also bring proof of taxes paid and contributions.
Epperson to speak to Kiwanis
Gary Epperson, Clark County emergency management director, will be the guest speaker at the March 1 meeting of the Winchester Kiwanis Club. The meeting will be at noon at Taste of China.
SRNA classes to be offered
Community Education is offering a state registered nurse aide class this spring. Classes begin March 7 and continue through May 21. Classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuition is $280 and is due by Feb. 24. Contact Community Education at 859-745-3946 or clark.comm.ed@gmail.com or 24 W. Community Education classes offered
Clark County Community Education will offer the following classes in the next two weeks:
— Yoga fitness: 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays, March 1 through April 5, $25 ($20 for parks and recreation members).
— Bellydance Fitness: 7:15-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 1 through April 5, $30 ($20 for parks and recreation members).
