Conkwright SBDM today
The Conkwright School-based Decision-making Council meets today at 4 p.m. at the school.
Historic Preservation Committee meeting
The Winchester Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the city commission chambers in City Hall.
American Legion meeting Nov. 17
American Legion Post 25 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Elks Club on Shoppers Drive. All veterans are welcome.
Thanksgiving dinner at Grace Baptist Church

Caldwell to speak at Kiwanis
Winchester Sun Publisher Mike Caldwell will be the speaker for the Nov. 30 Winchester Kiwanis Club meeting at Taste of China.
Open burning banned
Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham, upon advisement from Clark County Fire Chief Billy Jones, declared a ban on open burning effective Oct. 18. The ban is still in effect and will be until significant rainfall is recorded. For more information, contact the Clark County Fire Department at 745-0260.
Yard waste collection cutoff
The last day for yard waste collection (green curb-its) for the 2016 season will be Thursday. Yard waste collection will resume again in 2017.
